From humble beginnings, experimenting in the chocolate decorations industry, learning techniques from "trial and error", attending some courses, I found ways to make chocolate decorations for a variety of businesses - corporate functions, lodges, restaurants, special events, launches,

Locally we supplied hotels, restaurants, the corporate market, weddings, special occasions, and the like. Themed dessert creations have always been my passion, and I was fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity of designing the desserts of many Nederberg Wine Auctions, the desserts for the inauguration of Nelson Mandela and Thabo Mbeki, Nelson Mandela's 85th birthday bash at the Sandton Convention Centre, the opening of the ICC in Durban, the opening of The Palace Hotel at Sun City. I was also privileged to be chosen as part of the South African team on two occasions to represent South Africa at the Bocuse de Ore in Lyon, France.

Now, some 28 years later the slight change in direction sees Crystal Candy creating silicone moulds with sights set on becoming industry leaders.


WHAT WE DO

Currently displaying eleven collections / ranges of silicone moulds - totaling around 90 different designs and with our own Crystal Lace Flexible Icing, Crystal Candy is only just getting into its stride. With another two collections on the drawing board (a first in the world - when they launch) set to be released in the first quarter of 2014, and on the cards a further 2 new collections to be released each quarter thereafter.

So if you are decorating cupcakes for kiddies parties, cake pops for occasions, birthday cakes or prestigious wedding cakes, then our moulds are for you.

From novice to professional, the hobbyist and anyone in between - there is bound to be something here for you.


AUTHENTIC DESIGNS


From concept stage to the finished product, all Crystal Candy moulds are authentic and unique, created by ourselves. Drawing on inspiration from ideas around the world, research on trends and peeking at different industries, we then create collections that will make cake decorating fresh and easy.

Our laces offer different finishes, from the Ribbon Lace Collection to the Doily Art Collection, the Wedding Collection to the Themed Collections, there is a finish for your cake project here.

The Platinum Collection caters for different seasons - such as Easter, snowflakes, Halloween, Valentine's Day (with hearts and roses), love birds, to Christmas, as well as butterflies and edging. And these will be added to over time too.

The Gold Collection has more intricate design elements and are more suitable to wedding cakes and projects that require this type of finishing.

In 1984 founder Ray Esmany took her passion for making chocolate decorations, statuettes, and “anything chocolate” from a hobby to a thriving small business at the top of its industry. Experience, drive and determination has seen Ray change direction from making the edible products to now creating and selling the silicone moulds that once made the chocolate products. This gave birth to the formation of Crystal Candy, which now has over 50 silicone moulds in its current range (and growing fast!) and has opened a whole new world upon which to release her creativity.
