Also known as rice paper, it’s an essential ingredient for cake decorators. The subtle flavour won’t interfere with your cake’s taste, and our edible wafer paper products boast stunning designs. Made from potato starch, it offers a long shelf life when stored in a Ziplock bag.

Vegan, gluten-free, and fully edible, this lightweight paper is a breeze to work with.

Cut, tear, or shred it to unleash many creative possibilities. Remember to store unused wafer paper in a cool, dry place.

Extra tip: Create your own wafer paper glue by soaking shredded offcuts in water overnight, achieving a smooth and thick consistency.

Store any leftover glue in the fridge. This versatile glue can attach wires to petals, ruffles to cakes, or make paper butterflies soar. It’s also ideal for attaching crinoline and wafer paper lace.

When applying wafer paper prints or metallic overlays, ensure the cake surface is cool and not sticky, and gently apply with piping gel or wafer paper conditioner.

For flying butterflies, place your butterfly on a flat surface with the back facing up. Using a paintbrush brush a touch of Crystal Candy wafer paper conditioner or wafer paper glue to the body of your butterfly, place your wire on top of the butterfly and secure the wire with a piece of wafer paper (plaster). Leave to dry for a few seconds, Place the wire in your cake to create a flying butterfly.

If your wafer paper becomes brittle, lightly spray it with a mixture of water and glycerine for flexibility.

Exercise caution to avoid melting the wafer paper.
